So, with our knowledge of the people of the Book of Mormon, this should come as no surprise, but a video has been produced by non-LDS scholars talking about ancient American civilizations. Some of the more interesting findings are that their writings are very similar to Egyptian Hieroglyphics… hmmm.
Alta is putting in long hours of practice for her dance recital later this month. She is such a great dancer and loves to perform. We are looking forward to the perfected version of this dance. Download the video here:
General Conference Saturday (Oct 3, 2009), we had one of Lindsey’s friends take our family photos. The Star Mill is an antique/junkyard with all kinds of fun old stuff to use as backdrops and props. It was a little sketchy with our little ones running around amongst all the rusty old stuff, broken glass, loose nails, etc., but it ended up really nice.
As always, the impossible task is to get all the kids to smile and look at the camera at the same time. We did OK with that and got a couple of good family photos that Linds will massage just a titch.
Our little hospital crew headed to my office for Halloween trick or treating… Everyone had a great time with a visit from a gorilla, Beast from beauty and the beast and Frankenstein. I got into the office this morning and all my dry-erase markers were sticky and gooey (thanks Ace!!!). Here’s a fun video:
So for Christmas, Brigham Graff had brought us a bottle of Guarana Antarctica as a gift from his travels to Brazil. I hadn’t had Guarana for a long time and was looking forward to it. We cracked it open when Jonny and Hannah were here for Christmas Day and it was a hit–the kids loved it too.
Well, just this week, we didn’t know how much of a hit it was with Asiel until we had a bottle of Root Beer that we were dishing out. He looked over and said, “Guarana Please”. We just laughed! But, the kid thinks anything in a plastic bottle is called Guarana. Too funny!
We won’t tell him otherwise because it’s so cute. Here’s a video of him asking for “Guarana”. Enjoy!
Well, our little dude actually turned two years old and we went all-out decorating for him. The kid loves airplanes… what can I say? A little prodigy… makes me laugh.
Our little Aftony turned 1-year-old yesterday and we had a great time celebrating. Well, the resident party-lover, Alta, was the ringleader all day and just loves to celebrate.
We started the day off right with Birthday French Toast while rocking “Celebrate Good Times” from Kool and the Gang.
My Mom sent the following video along to me. What an amazing attitude and sense of humor. He truly brightened my day. Here’s a little about him:
Meet Jack Ruston and hear his inspirational story. Jack was an institute director when he had his accident (an ocean wave broke his neck). He has since served in a variety of capacities including Stake President and Patriarch. Enjoy this powerful lesson on attitude and gratitude in this youtube presentation:
